Serenity through Touch Massage
Lisa Anderson, LMP

Philosophy & Goals
My interest in a career as a massage practitioner developed over a long period of time. As a client of massage for many years, I have witnessed the profound effects it has on my body, mind, and spirit. One of those effects is relaxation. I believe that the natural state of the human body is one of relaxation and calm and that massage is an excellent way to remind the body of its own innate perception. By creating a nurturing healing environment for my clients and providing a safe, inviting refuge from the fast-paced life that a lot of us so often lead, my aim is to enhance my clients relaxation and promote a feeling of well-being.
As a massage practitioner, my goal is to help people maintain their health through massage and education. I work closely with each person to address healing at the appropriate level, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual. I also help educate the client so they succeed in whatever health care program they choose.
I feel that every body is different and therefore everybody's needs are different. That is why I use a combination of different techniques in my practice. Through integrative therapeutic massage, I hope I can help my clients nourish their bodies, replenish their souls, and help them find joy in their life.
As a business professional, my goal is to provide excellent customer service, as it has been an integral part of my success in the past. I believe that being attentive to my clients' needs, committed to customer satisfaction, and understanding the importance of quality service set the foundation to any thriving business.
Education
I received my Professional Licensing Diploma at the Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle. Brenneke's teaching emphasis is on the integrative track, educating their students on a variety of techniques to best suit the clients needs. A national leader in massage education, Brenneke’s mission is “to provide educational and professional excellence with integrity and vision.” The school not only provided me with quality education but they enhanced my personal life as well.
In continuing my exploration and study of massage I hope to expand my knowledge of different modalities thereby providing a variety of massage techniques tailored to my clients needs. Certifications I am currently working on are: Advanced Certification Myofascial Release through Advanced-Trainings.com, Advanced Certification Orthopedic Massage through Port Townsend School of Massage, and Personal Trainer Certification through NCSF.

Customer Testimonials
As an athlete, I can speak to Lisa's expertise as a massage
therapist. Her skill in recovery massage aided me in my completion of an
Ironman Triathlon. As a massage therapist and office partner with Lisa, I
can attest to her abilities in all phases of a massage practice. She holds
herself to the highest of standards! I am totally comfortable referring my
clients to Lisa as I know she delivers the best of care.

Twenty months ago, as a result of an auto accident, I needed
chiropractic care and was referred to Lisa for massage therapy to regain use
of my arm, and for neck, shoulder, back and rib soft tissue injuries. I
have full use and range of motion in my arm and much more comfort in the
other areas now. I've come a long way from the initial injuries and now am
continuing to see her regularly, on my own, to keep those muscles and
tendons loosened and functioning. She's very helpful in explaining the work
of the muscles and tendons, and has given me useful exercises to do at home
to keep the muscles supple. I am very pleased with Lisa's therapy and
highly recommend her, whether it be for an injury or just a relaxing massage.

I just wanted everyone to know what an excellent massage
practitioner Lisa Anderson is. I have three disc bulges in my lower back
along with sciatica. When I originally injured it, I was in extreme low
back pain and couldn't stand, sit, lay down or even walk. I was able to make it in to see Lisa (who promptly fit me in). When she was done with the
massage I was able to not only walk but stand and sit for a short period of
time. I slept for the first time without pain in a while and the next day
was able to go back to work. She has helped me other times, and I have
enjoyed her happy personality along with her expertise in massage.

To say that medically I have had a BAD couple of years is putting
it mildly. I have had a DVT with PE and three neurosurgeries involving
fusion of the spine, replacement cadaver bones, titanium basket and plates,
support rods, etc. Physical and massage therapy's have been a necessity for
me. I have been treated by a number of massage therapists and I firmly
believe Lisa Anderson has done me the most good. She is not only
compassionate and aware of my physical pain and limitations, but she is
extremely knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology and has the ability to use
those tools to benefit her clients. I greatly appreciate the help she has
given and continues to give me.

As a couple and as individuals, we believe massage therapy is one
of the keys to vibrant health. Stress in its many forms can rob us of our
ability to fend off disease. Massage therapy is a proven way to
reduce/relieve the negative impacts of stress and to keep the vital energy within us strong. We are delighted to work with Lisa. She has an intimate
knowledge of the human body and the workings of muscle, tendon and fascia.
In addition, she truly cares about our health and listens carefully as we
describe aches, pains and tenderness. She then tailors the massage she gives
to the needs of our bodies. Each massage is unique. She is a patient teacher
who takes time to explain how muscles and tendons work together and gives us
suggestions for exercise and stretches. We are fortunate to have found her
and consider her one of our best allies in our efforts to be strong,
flexible and energized in body, mind and spirit.
